Emily has decades of editing experience, both in daily and alternative newspapers and corporate websites. She has worked as an intern with The Bent Agency, reading manuscripts in all literary genres (fiction, nonfiction/memoir, poetry), but with a special affinity for young people’s literature (picture books–Young Adult novels). She has deep familiarity with the current market for books for young readers, and is a current member and former volunteer advisory committee member with the Society for Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), Western Washington Chapter. 

Her writing has appeared in Seattle Weekly, Seattle Times, ParentMap.com, Amazon.com, MSN.com, Nordstrom.com, New England Review, Seattle Cheap Eats, and in Reading Seattle: A City in Prose.

Emily has an MFA from Emerson College in Boston. She lives in Seattle with her husband, daughter, and maltipoo.
